Brave homeowner shoots armed robbers posing as Seattle cops: video

A Washington homeowner fired multiple shots and scared off a group of three armed robbers who were trying to break down his front door while posing as Seattle officers, police said.

Shocking surveillance video From Thursday morning it shows three masked men arriving at a home at 117 PL SE in Auburn.

The suspects could be seen using their jackets and gloves to avoid directly touching the screen door as one of them yelled, “Seattle Police.”

Another suspect, dressed in a gray hoodie and sweatpants, attempts to kick down the front door, with an accomplice, dressed in all dark colors, assisting him.

When the door refuses to budge, the men take turns hitting it with their shoulders.

As they continue to fail, a gunshot is heard from inside the house.

The would-be thieves, however, ignore him while the third suspect tries his luck getting through the door.

A burst of gunshots can then be heard coming from inside the house as the third man continues to try to kick down the door.

Just as the suspect appears to point his gun at the front door, the glass of the exterior screen door is shattered by the homeowner’s gunfire, just inches from the suspect’s face.

The thief recoils in shock and flees the scene along with the other suspects.

Auburn police said they are still investigating the case and have reached out to the public to help identify the three robbers.

The case is reminiscent of when in August a Texas man was recorded opening fire on a pair of suspects who tried to break into his home while posing as maintenance workers trying to check his air conditioning.

As in the Auburn incident, the robbers were caught on film trying to kick down the door until Ethan Rodriguez grabbed his gun and opened fire from inside his apartment through the front door, causing the men they would flee.
