However, this was not the case for Emanuela, who gave a whole new meaning to “crime of passion”. In a Twitter video that has more than 200,000 views on the platform, the Brazilian beauty revealed her love saga and shocked the Internet.
At a media event in Brazil, Emanuela recalled her “first date” with the man of her dreams and revealed that she was walking down the street where her boyfriend lived when he was unfortunately robbed. From the looks of it, the man who stole her phone had a change of heart and decided to change his status from thief to lover.
The unnamed phonejacker shared in the video that he had in fact felt his feelings for the woman had changed after seeing her picture on his phone. “I was going through a difficult situation because I didn’t have a wife, you know?” said the outlaw.
The unlikely “how they met” story has not only come as a surprise to people, but it’s also apparently unprecedented for the couple. The thief shared how, after realizing the beauty he had stolen, he regretted his actions: “When I saw her photo on the phone, I said to myself, ‘What a beautiful brunette, you don’t see a brunette like that every day,’ and I regretted stealing it.”
The reporter who asked the couple non-traditional questions quipped: “So you stole her phone and then her heart?”

Now, the couple have been together for more than two years, according to reports. However, it is still unclear if the woman’s parents are okay with having a former thief as a romantic partner for her son.
