He has a younger brother named Jean Carlos Correa, who was also selected by the Astros in the 2018 MLB draft. Although his family did not earn much, they had a decent amount to build a house in a fishing village in Santa Isabel, Barrio Velázquez, Puerto Rico. When he was five years old he played ball in an alley near his house, which caught the attention of a neighbor who suggested he sign up for a youth league. His hitting skills were noticed and he was assigned as first baseman. His father used to train him every day during his free time. At the age of seven, Carlos had continued his brilliant performance at Santa Isabel’s Playita Cortada American Baseball Congress affiliate, hitting around 150 home runs.
