Chinese migrant says TikTok helped her know where to cross the US southern border

As the influx of immigration from around the world continues to increase, many are now crossing into the country through gaps in the border wall and TikTok is reportedly helping them do so.

“TikTok, TikTok,” a translator speaking on behalf of a 37-year-old Chinese migrant told “60 Minutes” after being asked how they found out about the breaches at the southern border near California.

According to a “60 Minutes” segment, migrants have allegedly been using videos on the Chinese-owned social media platform that provide ‘step-by-step instructions’ on how to find holes in the border wall and hire smugglers.

A TikTok spokesperson told Fox News Digital: “TikTok strictly prohibits human trafficking, which we remove from our platform and report to authorities when necessary.”

According to TikTok’s website, the company offers a space for “survivors of human exploitation to share their stories and for migrants and refugees to document their journeys, so we offer a space to do so.”

The social media company also claimed that 93% of human trafficking content on the platform was proactively removed.

“60 Minutes” also reported that SUVs were arriving along the border fence every thirty minutes to drop off more and more groups of migrants, reaching a total of nearly 600 people who crossed the gap over the course of four days.

The Senate unveiled the new bipartisan border bill this month, but it quickly died due to overwhelming opposition from Republicans.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-Louisiana, weighed in on the impact of the proposed bill on X, saying, “I’ve seen enough.

This bill is even worse than we expected and will not end the border catastrophe the President has created. As the top Democratic negotiator proclaimed: Under this legislation, “the border is never closed.”

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., also weighed in, saying, “Let me be clear: The Senate border bill will NOT receive a vote in the House. Here’s what the people pushing this ‘deal’ aren’t telling you: It accepts 5,000 illegal immigrants a day and grants automatic work permits to asylum seekers – a magnet for more illegal immigration.”

The head of the United States Border Patrol was disappointed by Congress’s failure to approve the agreement.

“We need more people. We need more agents on the line. “They need more force multipliers in terms of technology and equipment infrastructure that not only helps them do their jobs better, but also helps them stay safe.” Jason Owens during an interview with Fox News. “I am disappointed. and I would tell him [Congress]Don’t stop: keep working together and reach a consensus that helps us keep this country safe.”

As the effects of the immigration crisis spread, states are fighting an uphill battle not to be overwhelmed by the pressures of housing thousands of new immigrants.
