Who used a fake passport to fake their age?
Struck by Cupid, an anonymous Chinese woman did something stupid: she changed the date of birth on her passport to hide her true age from her partner, who is 17 years younger than her.
The 41-year-old woman was recently detained at Beijing airport with a forged passport.
What exactly did she do?
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), the woman, whose identity has not been revealed, presented her passport to immigration officers so they could check it. When one of the inspectors saw something “unusual” on her passport, they asked her to provide more documents and travel information.
The woman tried to steal the officer’s passport so he wouldn’t look at it. She also suggested that her companion go through security procedures before requesting a private conversation with the office.
How did you manage to use a fake passport?
The woman later revealed that she had two Chinese passports, each with a different date of birth. One of them showed that her real age was 41, while the other said she was 27. She said that knowing her real age would damage her connection with her 24-year-old partner.
When her plans to visit Japan were revealed, the woman spent 6,500 yuan (around Rs 76,000) on a forged passport in which her age was recorded as 27 years.
The woman reportedly did not feel she had done anything wrong and showed no remorse while being questioned by immigration agents. She insisted that all she had done was change her age. She was eventually fined 35,000 rupees and her fake passport was confiscated.
