The hour-long documentary “The B1G Story: Chris Street” is the latest in a long line of tributes that have highlighted Street’s legacy since his passing. Hawk Central journalist Chad Leistikow sat down with Matt Engel, Bill Friedman and Street’s parents Mike and Patty to further discuss the importance of this video. Street averaged 14.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in the first 15 games of the 1992-1993 season. In his last game, a 65-56 loss to Duke, he scored 14 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 34 more free throws than before. His 33rd and 34th consecutive free throws in that contest set a school record for Iowa.

Bohannon spoke to reporters after the game, commenting: “That’s not my record. That achievement should stand in his name.” Street is buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Indianola, Iowa.
