“We intend to provide public service in a way that leaves a lasting impression on the world.” My life’s work is to improve the quality of people’s lives. CM Chouhan stated, “I want to tell women across the state that I will make every sister Lakhpati Didi in the next five years.” In the 2023 elections, Chouhan will contest from the Budhni seat against Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vairagyanand Giri, known as Mirchi Baba, and Congress candidate and actor Vikram Mastal. In the 2013 assembly elections, Chouhan contested as a candidate from Vidisha and Budhni and won both seats.

However, he eventually left Vidisha to retain his seat in the Budhni assembly. Additionally, Chouhan served as a Vidisha Lok Sabha representative five times, according to BJP state secretary Rajneesh Agrawal. Besides Chouhan, two other prominent contenders in the Madhya Pradesh elections are BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, who is contesting from Indore-1 assembly constituency, and former chief minister Kamal Nath, who will contest from the seat of Chhindwara assembly. The BJP chief in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, who faces elections on Sunday, resigned from his post, citing inaction by the party’s central leadership amid disorderly circumstances at his local office on October 21.
