Couple Files Lawsuit Against Airbnb Host Over Hidden Cameras That Captured Them Having Sex

Kayelee Gates and her fiancé, Christian Capraro, are taking legal action against the owner of an Airbnb property, claiming that he secretly recorded them with hidden cameras while they were having sex in the bathroom.

Court documents obtained by Fox 5 DC reveal the allegations behind their lawsuit.

After a 23-hour drive to Silver Spring, Maryland, in August 2022, Kayelee Gates and Christian Capraro settled into their Airbnb accommodation.

As they lay on the bed, intending to unwind by watching a movie, they noticed two smoke detectors in the room.

Christian, a smoke detector installer, grew suspicious and investigated further.

To their shock, they discovered a hidden camera inside the smoke detector above the bed and another identical camera in the bathroom, as detailed in their lawsuit.

The couple left their Airbnb after unearthing the shocking discovery.

Christian removed the hidden camera from the bedroom, and they promptly sought refuge in a nearby hotel before contacting the Montgomery County Police Department.

Kaylee said she felt “embarrassment, humiliation, disgrace, and loss of dignity” from the incident. “I definitely have had many cry sessions about it,” she told Fox 5 DC.

“Like, I can feel my heart start beating really heavy and fluttery whenever I start thinking about a situation. I get a little shaky even talking about it.”

During the police visit to the house, another hidden camera, cleverly camouflaged as a smoke detector, was discovered in the basement, where a different guest had been staying.

The couple’s attorney, Dan Whitney, Jr., expressed their most significant concern, fearing the unknown whereabouts of the recorded material, likening the situation to opening Pandora’s box.

“Once that box is open, once that recording is made, it’s impossible to know where it went, who sent it, has it been shared, has it gone on the internet?” he told the outlet.

Licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner Christopher J. Goisse owns the property rented by the couple.

When the police arrived, Goisse was in the master bedroom of the house. Initially consenting to a search, he later refused access to his twin brother Larry Goisse’s bedroom, where officers believed he wasn’t present until they discovered otherwise.

The lawsuit claims that Larry emerged later, potentially after destroying evidence.

During a subsequent search, police found a locked safe in Larry’s room, and he declined to provide the code. A search warrant was obtained, leading to the discovery of multiple hidden cameras, including those removed from the bathroom.

Larry Goisse is already in custody for separate federal charges related to drug diversion and healthcare fraud due to a reported methamphetamine addiction and mental illness.

Kayelee expressed concerns about the breach of privacy, noting that it affects her interactions with others. The couple is seeking over $75,000 in damages for the distress caused.

Christopher Goisse has 30 days to respond to the lawsuit and has previously denied wrongdoing, suggesting the possibility of the guests planting the devices.
