David Vertis Dye Obituary
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation after the deaths of three people were found inside a Crittenden home. Inside the mobile home they owned on Indian Hill Drive, the remains of the three people were found. Detectives say when the power went out to the home several weeks ago, the homeowner installed a generator. However, investigators noted that the park did not allow generators, so they installed the generator in the bedroom at the back of the house. The smells began to spread throughout the house while the victims slept in the front.
One of the victims appeared missing from work and detectives said that by the time a family member showed up to check on them, it was too late. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the victims are Aubrie McGoveny, 20, of Covington; David Vertis Dye, 53, of Crittenden; and David Vertis Lee Dye, 21, of Crittenden. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office reports that carbon monoxide poisoning appears to have been the cause of death in each of these incidents. There is no reason to suspect misconduct. After some time has passed, an autopsy will be performed on each of the three deceased to determine the cause of death.
Authorities reported that the victim’s remains were found at the scene. All concerns about foul play have been dispelled when Grant County Coroner Mark Jump has declared carbon monoxide poisoning the preliminary cause of death. Both the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office have taken control of the investigation as the community mourns. To shed light on the circumstances surrounding the untimely deaths of two Florence residents, authorities are working hard to reconstruct the events that led to this tragic episode. As the investigation continues, updates will be provided that will give the tight-knit community a glimpse of how this tragic chapter will be resolved.
