Although it is true, Artificial Intelligence (AI) came to make life easier for humans, there are those who use it to destroy the reputation of some people through the creation of false intimate images.
A few weeks ago the case of the singer Rosalía occurred, to whom she leaked some intimate images that she had supposedly uploaded; However, it was an AI-retouched image.
Just like the Spanish singer, hundreds of people suffer harassment and blackmail for this type of edited images and although many believe that what is on the internet stays forever, there is a way to eliminate these types of photographs.
This is StopNCII, a website that seeks to prevent harassment and the disclosure of intimate images and is operated by Revenge Porn Helplinepart of the international charity SWGfL.
Although this tool has existed since 2000, it has been growing and being updated to combat these cybercrimes. According to Colombia’s El Tiempo, StopNCII has managed to eliminate 200,000 non-consensual intimate images on the web.
How does it work?
Creating your case so that the image(s) can be downloaded is simple, you just have to enter ParadaNCII.org and click on the “create case” option.
It will immediately redirect you to a form that you must fill out with the information about the photographs. Questions like your age, what kind of images they are and if they are already on the internet are some of the questions you must answer.
The second step is to upload the intimate photos, fake or real, that have been leaked on the internet. Then the platform will use intelligence to detect them in the database.
StopNCII generates identifiers that assign a Hash (a numeric code) to an image or video, creating a secure digital fingerprint.
It is important to know that when uploading the images to StopNCII they are not registered, they will only be scanned so that a hash can be generated.
Once you have followed the steps, the website will help you delete the image from all the networks and sites you are on. Furthermore, if it is spread again, it will be deleted immediately, since it recognizes it from the code that was previously generated.
