In this article, we are going to talk about the YNW Melly murder trial. Jury selection began in the murder trial against up-and-coming rapper YNW Melly. The rising talent, whose real name is Jamell Maurice Demons, has worked with Kayne West and Kodak Black. The most important song of his is “Murder On My Mind”. Four months before he allegedly killed two aspiring rappers in Florida, the song was released in June 2018. Here are the lyrics: he Wakes up in the morning, he has murder on his mind AK-47, MAC-11 , 9 and Glocks. And all these niggas pu$$ and haters are trying to know him from his grind, but he can’t let them, they murdered him in his mind.
Because Melly could receive the death penalty if convicted, the jury selection process is expected to take a while. After the state filed a motion to allow the death penalty if a jury returned an 8-4 verdict in favor of the death penalty, a judge last week ruled in favor of the state. The new law was enacted in response to Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz being spared the death penalty by a split jury.
Once opening remarks are planned, the YNW Melly murder trial will air live on the Law&Crime Network. Cortlen Henry, Melly’s best friend, arrived at a Miami-area hospital in October 2018 and said his friends had been injured in a drive-by shooting. According to his arrest document, he said they were bleeding to death inside his car. Anthony Williams, 21, and Christopher Thomas, 19, were discovered by first responders and detectives with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso. They were both gone.
According to investigators, Henry claimed that he had just left a recording studio in Fort Lauderdale with Williams and Thomas when a car pulled up and began shooting. Williams and Thomas were wounded, despite Henry claiming to have dodged the shots. Detectives verified that when police arrived at the “crime scene”, they found no evidence that a shooting had taken place. According to Melly’s arrest report, while police investigated further, security footage revealed that Melly, Henry, Williams and Thomas were together in Henry’s car at the time Henry said the shooting occurred. Detectives stated that it was apparent that the group was present on the night of the crime based on phone data and blood spatter evidence and that the victims had been shot in the car rather than shot. In February 2019, police arrested Melly on two counts of first-degree murder. The opening arguments will begin after the jury is seated, perhaps in mid-June. So, stay tuned for PKB news.
