Disgruntled Democratic voter attacks poll worker: ‘You tried to overturn the election’

A Virginia Democrat harassed and cursed at a Republican election representative in an “unhinged” Election Day confrontation that went viral.

Video shows a progressive voter approaching Matthew Hurtt, a poll worker and director of professional services at the Leadership Institute, in Arlington, Virginia, on Tuesday.

“You guys tried to overturn the election, you might as well have walked up to my head on the way to the polling station and put a gun to my head and tried to tell me not to vote,” said an unidentified man wearing an “I voted” sticker.

The deranged individual then accused the Republican poll worker of “attempt[ing]to overthrow the election with violence” as he greeted people on their way to vote.

“If you try to steal my vote next year, I will remember you personally,” he said, before pulling out his phone and snapping a photo of the Republican greeter.

The Republican host continued filming the man as he welcomed passersby, racking up more than 5 million views on a viral video on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Democrat then approached a passerby and advised him not to be “friends, friends with these people because they put on a good neighbor face” before accusing Hurtt of being racist, supporting lynchings and being “damn Bible-thumping bigots.” ”. and monsters.”
