Biography
Divya Dwivedi was born in Ranchi, Bihar to a middle-class Hindu family. His journey into entertainment began in a bold way when he convinced the manager of a local radio station to allow him to read his poetry live alongside veteran poets. Struck by her enthusiasm, she took the chance on her, which led her to abandon her dream of being a doctor and immerse herself headlong into Indian film and television.
A versatile artist, Divyaa has shown her acting prowess in films spanning multiple languages from Hindi to Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi and her native Bhojpuri.
Her interest in comedy led her to join the experimental internet TV series “Jai Hindi” in 2009. In the show, she played a satirical version of Savita Bhabi, using double talk to criticize India’s political system and the prevailing misogynist culture.
In 2013, she married a Canadian and continued to maintain a busy schedule with major roles in notable Indian movies and TV series. However, in March 2015, she made the decision to move to Canada to pursue her family life and career opportunities in the Canadian film and television industries.
