AAP politician Amanatullah Khan’s Delhi house was raided by the Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday in connection with a corruption case involving unauthorized nominations to the Delhi Waqf Board. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Amanatullah Khan was the target of a money laundering raid on Tuesday by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Delhi. Based on two FIRs filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Delhi Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), the ED has started taking action. The cases concern irregularities in the recruitment process of the Delhi Waqf Board, of which Khan is the head.

The same case led to the arrest of Amanatullah Khan, a 49-year-old Delhi Assembly member from Okhla district, by the Delhi ACB last year. He was eventually released on bail in September 2022. The case was based on a report that claimed that Khan fraudulently hired 32 people while serving as chairman of the Delhi Waqf Board, against all rules and regulations. After AAP politician and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh was arrested on Wednesday (October 4) by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case related to Delhi’s liquor policy, The Enforcement Directorate carried out a raid on Khan’s house a few days later. After Manish Sisodia, former deputy chief minister, Singh is the second well-known figure to be arrested in the case, dealing a blow to Delhi’s ruling AAP.
