Ekta Kapoor was born on June 7, 1975 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She belongs to a Hindu family. She is the daughter of famous Hindi actor Jeetendra Kapoor and her mother’s name is Shobha Kapoor. Tushar Kapoor is her brother and also appeared in Hindi films. Ekta Kapoor studied at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim. She graduated from Mithibai College, Mumbai.

Career
Kapoor began his career at the age of 15 and interned in advertising with filmmaker Kailash Surendranath. He has produced more than 130 Indian soap operas on television, including Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Hum Paanch, Kasautii Zindagi Kii, Pavitra Rishta, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Jodha Akbar, Naagin, Kumkum Bhagya.
Some of his Bollywood produced films include JRushna Cottage, Kucch To Hai, Lox, Sex Aur Dhokha, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Shor in the City.
In 2012, he founded the Institute of Creative Excellence, which is a media training school through his production company. He has created several television series on OTT platforms.
