Previously, in 2015, he raised funds for Bowel Cancer Australia by completing a 1000km bike ride from his hometown to Melbourne in honor of his late father, who died of cancer in 2005.

On international grounds, Burns made her Women’s One day International debut against the West Indies on 8 September 2019, and her Women’s Twenty20 International debut against the West Indies on 14 September 2019.
The previous year, in January 2020, she was named in Australia’s squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
