When a Michigan woman won a $288,903 lottery jackpot on her husband’s birthday, she had several reasons to rejoice. Kristin Murawski, 46, of Washtenaw County, told Michigan Lottery officials she purchased her Fantasy 5 ticket at the Red Party Store in Willis on July 21.
“I like to play Fantasy 5 when the jackpot gets over $150,000,” Murawski remarked. “We made a quick stop at Red’s, and I saw the jackpot was way past $150,000, so I grabbed a ticket,” Murawski stated that it was already a memorable day.

“It was Scott’s birthday, so we stopped by our neighbor’s house on the way home to celebrate. My brother-in-law texted the winning numbers to my husband while we were there. As I stared at them, I said, ‘I think we hit!’ ‘I guess we made it!’ “When my husband saw the ticket, his jaw dropped,” she recalled.
Murawski won $288,903 when his ticket matched all five numbers, 21-23-25-34-38.
“Winning this jackpot has changed our lives and made our lives easier. It means my husband can retire sooner, and I won’t have to worry about how we’ll make ends meet once we’re both retired,” she explained.
