Flight attendant warns against using this part of the plane
The user, who goes by HausofDarling, noted that pockets in commercial airliner seats should be avoided at all costs, regardless of how tempting it might be to unload your goods and get comfortable before your flight.
The attendant advised guests to think twice before putting their phones, books or snacks in the compartments, saying, “I always recommend that you never, ever, ever, ever use or put anything in your seat pocket.” They are cleaned of garbage but never cleaned.
“I went outside and saw all kinds of things taken out of there. Dirty handkerchiefs, sick bags, panties, socks, gum, half-sucked candy, apple cores, and then on the next flight you go and put your phone, laptop or iPad there.”, reports the Daily Express.
This is what another crew member has to add
Another unnamed crew member backs up the account, detailing some of the worst items they found in their pockets during their employment. “I once found vomit out of a paper bag that had spilled out of the seat pocket.” “It was terrible, but what can you do?” they asked.
According to flight attendant Tommy Cimato, wearing shorts increases exposure to microorganisms on board. “Don’t fall asleep or lean your head against the window,” he said.
“You are not alone, and you have no idea how many people or children have wiped their hands or other objects all over the window.”
“It’s the same as the window, you never know how clean it will be, so if you wear pants, you will have fewer germs.” Wearing pants can help travelers avoid direct contact with the seat, offering greater protection against germs on the plane.
