Florida man breaks into apartment and steals ingredients to make screwdriver cocktail: video

A man who hadn’t stopped drinking or was looking to hit the bottle early was caught on camera sneaking into a Florida apartment and stealing the ingredients to make a morning screwdriver.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Department said the unidentified intruder entered through a secondary door of an apartment around 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 23, Thanksgiving morning.

Surveillance footage shared by the department shows the liquor thief, dressed in a maroon shirt and blue jeans, silently opens the door and enters.

Moments later, he emerges with a bottle of, appropriately enough, Florida fresh orange juice, about three-quarters full, and a Svedka Lemonade Vodka bar in his arms, as the video shows.

He cautiously closes the door behind him and looks around, stumbling at one point before walking away.

Thoughtfully, he even turned off the lights before leaving.

The total value of the theft was just over $35, police said.

The victim told investigators that they barely used the door through which the thief entered the apartment and that they were not sure why it was not locked.

The man also tried to open a door to the apartment across the hall but it was locked and he left, according to the sheriff’s office.

Police have asked anyone who recognizes the man to contact the sheriff’s office.
