A Plant City, Florida, man was arrested Sunday morning after leading law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase overnight on a motorcycle with a fake license plate that read “MCLOVIN.”
FOX 13 in Tampa reported that, according to police, Jesse Rivera, 30, was seen entering and exiting cars on his motorcycle at a speed of approximately 110 mph in a 45 mph zone around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday. .
The motorcycle, authorities said, had a fake Hawaiian tag “MCLOVIN,” a reference to the movie “Superbad.”

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper pulled up behind Rivera and turned on the patrol car’s lights and sirens, but when Rivera turned around and saw a trooper behind him, he allegedly began speeding away.
The officer reportedly turned off his lights and sirens and observed the motorcyclist from a distance, the station reported.
As they watched from afar, a police officer from the St. Petersburg Police Department and a deputy from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct traffic stops, although Rivera never stopped for either of them.
Still watching from afar, the trooper allegedly said Rivera crossed the Gandy Bridge at about 15 mph over the speed limit before exiting the bridge and making a series of turns until he came to a stop at the intersection of SR-60 and 50th Street. .

Rivera then reportedly turned around and saw the officer and then attempted to put his bike in gear, but instead it slipped into gear, police said, and turned off the engine.
He then tried to put the motorcycle back into gear, reversed and avoided the patrol car that was blocking him. Instead, the police officer got out of his vehicle, grabbed Rivera, and pulled him off his bike.
In the process of removing Rivera from his bicycle, the motorcycle fell on the police officer and the suspect.

FOX 13 reported that officials say Rivera was ordered not to walk away while the officer handcuffed him.
At one point, Rivera told the officer that the bike was on his foot and that he was injured.
The police officer removed the motorcycle from Rivera’s foot and then called EMS.
First responders transported Rivera to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for a broken foot.
Once treated, he was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail with the sole charge of fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer at a high rate of speed.
