This proverb recently took a worrying turn when a family got into a fight with restaurant employees over what they perceived as “undercooked” biryani being served on New Year’s Eve.

This disturbing incident occurred on a Sunday and got so bad that 10 Abids restaurant employees were charged with crimes. The violent conflict depicted in the film is due to employees confronting consumers with chairs and windshield wipers, among other unusual objects.
What happened at the scene?
A family member begs the attackers to stop the attack, but they do not give up and begin to verbally abuse her. The video became very popular on social media very quickly, prompting a variety of responses from concerned people and some offering humorous comments.

Police responded quickly after learning of the event, arresting ten of the offenders and closing the restaurant for the night. A TOI report claims that the fight started when a Mangalhat family of six went to the restaurant for dinner.
They started with roti and curry and then ordered biryani. Customers reported that the rice was undercooked when they received the dish. The waiter brought a new plate of biryani, but when the family saw the bill, they insisted that the plate not be made because they thought it was undercooked.
How did the authorities react to the violent fight?
Explaining further, Deputy Commissioner of Police A. Chandrasekhar said, “An argument ensued when the servant asked them about it.”
When one of the customers slapped the waiter out of frustration, the waiter alerted his co-workers immediately. Subsequently, the workers began to act hostile towards the family.
The employees were then arrested and charged under Sections 324, 506 and 509 of the IPC; However, they were later released on bail. Watch the viral video here.
