Khanna started his acting career on television in the year 2004. Initially, he appeared in supporting roles in television serials like Kkusum and Siddhant. But he later gained popularity thanks to the television series Bhabhi, in which he played the role of Bhuvan Sareen. Later he acted in Kumkum-Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan in the role of Sharman Wadhwa.
During 2007-2010, Khanna worked in several television serials like Meri Doli Tere Angana, Ardhangini-Jeevan Saathi, Love Ne Mila Di Jodi and Ye Pyar Na Hoga Kam. In 2012, she acted in a lead role in the television drama Byaah Hamari Bahoo Ka. She recently appeared as Anuj Kapadia alongside Rupali Ganguly in the Star Plus television series Anupamaa.
