Gentry White was born in Monroe, North Carolina. He began his career by playing recurring roles in television shows. He also had the opportunity to appear in a scene in the famous Hollywood movie Fast & Furious 7 in 2015. White got his first major role as Billy Lee in the AMC television series TURN: Washington’s Spies. White later worked as Romeo in UnREAL, starring Shiri Appleby, Constance Zimmer, Craig Bierko and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman.
In 2017, he played Garet Jax in the fantasy drama television series The Shannara Chronicles, created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The series is an adaptation of The Sword of Shannara trilogy of fantasy novels by Terry Brooks. White later appeared in Jett as Charles Junior, Leopard Skin as Jayson, and Two Sentence Horror Stories as Jayson.
