Kendall Bost, a respected teacher at Concord School, died over the weekend in a sad accident. The community is in mourning. Bost, a 29-year-old teacher at Concord High School in North Carolina, was involved in a fatal car accident on Sunday, January 21, 2024, according to friend Tessa Holmes Kluttz, who posted the information on Facebook. Kluttz wrote a touching remembrance of the late teacher and included a link to a GoFundMe campaign created by local Lindsey Swanger to help Bost’s family with unforeseen burial expenses. She praised the late teacher as a great educator and an inspiring mentor.
The page said: “We are all devastated by the loss of Kendall and no one is prepared for the high cost of a funeral service.” She has donated more than $6,100, surpassing the original goal of $5,000. We wish to honor Kendall’s memory, give her the tribute she deserves and say goodbye definitively. Kendall Bost’s passing was also confirmed by Concord Middle School in a press release. The school said Bost would be remembered for his generosity, sense of humor and commitment to his students. Before beginning teaching at Concord Middle School in 2022, Appalachian State University alumna Kendall Bost received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Government in 2018.
Although he was only employed at the school for a short time, friends and co-workers who expressed their grief over the untimely death of a beloved community member on social media demonstrated that he had a lasting impact on the community. Tessa Holmes Kluttz called Kendall Bost an incredible young man and shared that after a small period of drift after his college graduation, he discovered his calling in teaching. Before starting teaching at the Concord school, Bost spent three years working as a barista at Westrock Coffee, according to his LinkedIn profile.
