A Surat-based diamond merchant has contributed a ‘mukut’ (crown) for the idol of Ram Lalla at the newly constructed Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

This special crown, worth Rs 11 million, was designed exclusively for the deity in the newly built temple.

Mukesh Patel, owner of Green Lab Diamond Company in Surat, offered a 6 kilogram crown to Lord Ram, adorned with gold, diamonds and precious stones.

During the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, Mukesh Patel handed over the crown to Lord Ram in the presence of the head priest of Ram Mandir and the trustees of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust.

The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony for the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya took place on the same day, marked by grand celebrations in the temple town and across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi actively participated in the rituals. Simultaneously, Dinesh Bhai Naviya, National Treasurer of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, revealed that Mukesh Patel also made contributions in the form of ornaments for the idol of Lord Ram installed in the newly constructed temple.

After conducting extensive research, Patel made the decision to donate an elaborate gold crown and various jewelery designed specifically for the statue of Lord Ram.

To ensure accuracy, two employees from Patel’s company were sent to Ayodhya to measure the statue, marking the beginning of the creation of the crown. The intricately designed crown incorporates 4 kilograms of gold, complemented by diamonds, rubies, pearls and sapphires of different sizes.

The consecration of the new idol of Ram Lalla took place at the Ayodhya temple in an event chaired by Prime Minister Modi, witnessed by millions of people on television in their homes and temples across the country.

The sculpture of the Ram Lalla idol was skillfully executed by Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj.
