Haley criticizes Trump for confusing her with Nancy Pelosi, says she had to ‘sit down with him’ about Putin’s ‘bromance’

PETERBOROUGH, New Hampshire – Nikki Haley on Saturday criticized Republican Party front-runner Donald Trump for confusing her with Nancy Pelosi and claiming she had to scold her then-boss when she was serving as his ambassador to the United Nations.

“Guess what, when you’re 80 you’re not as smart as you used to be,” Haley told a crowd of about 200 voters at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture, a museum in Peterborough, New Hampshire.

He mocked Trump for his mistake Friday night in Concord, New Jersey, when he referred to Haley instead of Pelosi while discussing the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

“The man was ranting about how he was stopping Capitol Police from getting in on January 6th. He went on and on,” Haley said.

“I was not in DC on January 6. I had nothing to do with the Capitol.”

He also criticized Trump’s cozy relationships with foreign dictators such as Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

“Do you know I had to sit down with him when we were in the administration and tell him to stop this bromance he had with Putin?”

“It’s dangerous, you don’t do that,” he said sternly.

“We have a world on fire right now.”

But hardliner Haley trotted out a long list of foreign policy grievances at multiple campaign events Saturday, with two days left before Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary.

“What about the fact that Trump praised China’s President Xi a dozen times after China gave us COVID?” she asked.

“He said he supported China when they took over democracy in Hong Kong. He congratulated the Chinese Communist Party on its 70th anniversary,” Haley continued.

“Who does that? He is not an American president!

He also described the agony of Cindy Warmbier, whose son, Otto, a college student, was arrested in North Korea in 2016 and released with severe brain damage a year later.

“Do you know how difficult it was for her to hear her president say that he was writing a love letter to the man who tortured her son?” -Haley asked.
