Hamas fires rockets from ‘humanitarian’ zone created by IDF in Gaza: reports

Hamas terrorists reportedly continued firing rockets from a “humanitarian zone” established in southern Gaza on Saturday.

The Israel Defense Forces said terrorists “launched numerous rockets into Israel on Friday from a designated area intended to protect civilians in the Al-Mawasi region of southern Gaza,” the Times of Israel reported.

The IDF established the area as safe for civilians within the war-torn Gaza Strip.

Four rockets were fired from the al-Mawasi area on Saturday, but “they landed in the Gaza Strip and endangered many Gazans,” an IDF statement said.

“This is further proof that Hamas exploits the IDF humanitarian zone for terrorist activities,” the IDF said.

The IDF released a graphic showing the locations of rocket launches from al-Mawasi, as well as an image showing a rocket launcher.

Rocket fire from the Gaza Strip toward Israel has continued from other locations in southern and central Gaza in recent days, in areas where the IDF is not operating on the ground, the newspaper reported.
