Honduran among ‘Santa’s helpers’, who send gifts to children in need

Honduran Kathy Mejía, who currently lives in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, is one of the thousands of volunteers for ‘Operation Christmas Child’.

This project is part of La Bolsa del Samaritan (Samaritan’s bag) which is responsible for collecting gifts and sending them to the most needy children around the world.

The church to which Kathy belongs, year after year, joins this altruistic work that since 1990 has sent school supplies, toys, accessories, but above all a lot of happiness, inside a shoe box.

“It is not mandatory, but we are a group of volunteers who are in charge of distributing the empty boxes and within a month collect them already filled with different things that are useful for a boy or girl,” she told tunota.com.

In the images that they shared exclusively with tunota.com you can see how he fills each box in a personalized way, he even places a paper where he explains to the minor what his tastes are, so that they can get to know him a little.

According to data from the religious institution, more than 100 million needy children from 130 countries are the beneficiaries of this gift in the name of ‘Santa Claus’.
