A young Honduran woman living in the United States wanted to bring part of her culture to her classmates, teaching them to dance to the rhythm of the punta.
It was the Mexican María Borjas who shared the clip through her TikTok account, showing part of the “classes” of her Honduran friend, whose name she did not reveal.
“POV: you have a friend who is Honduran and teaches them pointe,” reads the text she added to the video she published on November 29.
To the rhythm of ‘La parranda’ (sei, sei, sei) by Kazzabe, they showed them how to move their hips, feet and even their hands, to dance like the Hondurans do.
In the images you can see how the rest of the young people, who live in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, try to keep up with him and learn the rhythm born from the Garifuna culture.
The tiktok already exceeds 400 thousand reproductions, 41 thousand tastes (I like it) and it has been shared almost 100 times by Hondurans proud of teaching their culture.
However, people have claimed that “that’s not how you dance punta,” arguing that they should “move their glutes more and quickly to the beat of the music.” How about?
