Ann Maria Joy suffered a heart attack on 1st June 2023 when she was doing prayer with her mother at a church in Erattayar. Immediately, she was taken into the Amrita Hospital in Ernakulam from St. John Hospital in Idukki Kattappana in almost 2 hours 40 minutes. It was a large route, the Kattapana service bank ambulance which started traveling from Kattappana distance covered a distance of 129 km through the route of Cjeruthoni-Thodupuzha-Muvattupuzha-Vyttila, to reach the hospital. Ann was taken to a private hospital in Kottayam in July. her funeral service is going to be held on 6th August 2023, Sunday at around 2:00 pm at St Thomas Church, Erattayar.
