The entire Pakistan Police Department is mourning the passing of their beloved and talented Capital City Police Officer who was serving in Lahore. Yes, the police officer has been identified as Umar Sheikh who sadly passed away on the night of Wednesday March 22, 2023. According to the sources, Umar Sheikh breathed his last in Lahore this Wednesday. Now, many officials come forward to pay tribute to him and express his deep sorrow to the relatives who have just lost his beloved family member. Sheikh had been serving as a dedicated police officer for a long time and sadly he passed away from this world.
Cause of death of Umar Sheikh
Since the news of Umar Sheikh was confirmed, many officials and people started paying tribute to him on the internet and giving his family deep condolences. One of the Twitter posts reads: “Sincere condolences to the family of former CCPO Lahore Umar Sheikh who passed away, may his soul rest in peace.” The tweet was made by Zahid Gishkori. Throughout his career, he earned great respect and love from his colleagues and senior officials. He served the country for a long time and after that, he gave his whole life to his family.
The honest policeman died of a heart attack. At Rahim Yar Khan, where he was born, prayers will be said for his funeral. For the retired policeman, condolences began to flow from all corners of society.
Mr. Sheikh completed studies at George Washington University in the United States in digital forensics and cyber law. He went on to hold numerous in-demand positions with the police force, the intelligence bureau, and NACTA. He worked for several years as a district police officer, holding positions in Dera Ghazi Khan, Jamshoro, Jacobabad Nawabshah and Larkana. He spent four years at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington and seven years at the Intelligence Bureau.
In 2020 he built a reputation and was appointed CCPO Lahore but was later removed from the post due to a controversy where his audio conversation went viral on the internet and because of this he also lost his image among the society. Another tweet reads: “Former Secretary to Punjab Chief Minister – Dr. Raheel Siddiqui Remembers Late Friend Of His Former CCPO Lahore Umar Sheikh Who Died Last Night As Abandoned And Mistreated By Friend And Foe Alike.” He will always be remembered by his family and friends.
