In April 2021, a heartbreaking tragedy struck when Kelly Wilkinson, a mother of three children aged between two and nine, lost her life in a brutal incident. In the wake of Kelly’s death, her sister Danielle Carroll and her husband, Rhys, immediately stepped up to provide love and care for the grieving children. Thanks to the collective efforts of Danielle, Rhys, Tamika, and the campaign’s supporters, Kelly’s children found hope and stability amidst the tragedy. They began their journey towards a brighter future filled with love and care, supported by the kindness and generosity of those around them.
With the aim of garnering community support for the Wilkinson kids during their challenging time, a heartfelt initiative was launched. The community’s response was nothing short of remarkable. An anonymous contributor generously donated a piece of land, while the renowned construction company, Metricon, stepped forward with a gracious donation of an entire house. Despite facing challenges within the construction sector at that time, a dedicated team of builders and volunteers worked tirelessly for over two years to transform the dream of a new home into a reality. Finally, after much hard work and unwavering commitment, the fully furnished seven-bedroom house, situated on the outskirts of the Gold Coast, was completed. The family came together to reveal their new home on a heartwarming Tuesday night. The children had spent the last year witnessing the incredible transformation of the house from a mere slab of concrete, and their faces were filled with joy, excitement, and happiness as they embraced their new home.
