How to check Karnataka ration card DBT status?

Recently, the Congress government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Karnataka has implemented its direct bank transfer service under the Anna Bhagya Scheme which started on Monday 10th July 2023. It is known that under the Anna Bhagya Scheme, the Karnataka government has decided to pay cash to creditors at the rate of Rs 34 per kg, for the additional 5 kg of rice under the free rice scheme, which is applicable to all members of a BPL household and Anytodaya household. Scroll down to the next section for more details.

It was believed that the funds would be transferred directly to the bank accounts of creditors linked to the Aadhar numbers of the BPL householders. According to the state government, Karnataka has Rs 1.28 crore ration cards for Antyodaya Anna Yojana and Priority Households. It is said that up to 99 percent of these cards have an Aadhar number which adds that 82 percent of these cards are linked with all active bank accounts. It is known that creditors will get the amount in their bank accounts for an additional 5 kg of rice at just Rs 34 kg through DBT.

However, according to the government, 22 lakh BPL families may not get benefits under the Anna Bhagya Scheme immediately as their bank accounts are not linked to Aadhar’s numbers. Before going ahead with the process, let us know what Anna Bhagya Scheme really is. So for that, you have to keep reading the same. The Anna Bhagya Plan, which calls for providing an extra 5kg of rice to BPL card holders, was one of five election promises made by Congress ahead of the May 10 Assembly elections.

It was learned that of the 10 kg, five kg of rice will be from the Central Government, which creditors have been receiving for a long time. The state government has announced an additional five kg of rice but, in return, transfers Rs 170 a month to creditors’ bank accounts. The Karnataka government has gone down the path of direct benefit transfer as it was unable to purchase rice from the Food Corporation of India and other sources. However, there have been examples where creditors have not received their first installment under the Anna Bhagya Scheme.

This is how you can check the payment status of the Anna Bhagya Scheme:

  1. On the home page, click the Electronic Services tab.
  2. Now, click on the DBT status link.
  3. Select the month, year and enter your ration card number and click continue.
  4. Your DBT status under Anna Bhagya will be displayed on the screen
