Hundreds of thousands of people around the world demanded a ceasefire in Gaza on Saturday; some called for the eradication of Israel and chanted “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
Protesters came from the United Kingdom and Paris, to Northern Ireland, Copenhagen, Rome, Stockholm, Malaysia and New Zealand.
“Stop arming Israel. Stop bombing Gaza. “We are all Palestinians,” the London protesters shouted.
More than 1,000 police officers were deployed in London to control the crowd and at least two people were arrested, including one who attacked a police officer. the Metropolitan Police said.
The officer was taken to hospital and later shown with his head bandaged.
A second person arrested at the protest, apparently calling for peace, was accused of shouting “racial comments” and detained “on suspicion of… threatening to kill,” police said. said the police in X.
