Is Michael Keetley in jail? New trial for double murder of Ice Cream Man

One more murder case has been reported that is in the news and people are talking about it. The defendant is identified as Michael Keetley and people want to know if he is in jail. As usual, this case is not new because it happened 13 years ago, but the case is back in the news. The case started in the year 2010 and it is still unsolved, he has been under the police for a long time but has not pleaded guilty. The probe wasn’t working and he had his trial last Monday. Details about the case have not been updated since. If he pleads guilty, he could be sentenced to life in prison.

Is Michael Keetley in jail?

The report states that Michael Keetly has spent more than twelve years in prison awaiting sentencing in his case. He has been in jail since 2011. Following the November 2010 shooting, the defendant pleaded not guilty to 2 counts of first degree murder and 4 counts of attempted murder in January 2011. However, Michael has consistently denied his involvement in the shooting and has been in prison. Keetly shot 6 people; where 2 of them were killed, and 4 of them were seriously injured.

Keetly frequently claims his innocence in the 2010 Thanksgiving Day open fire incident, though the attorney claims he sought revenge when he mistakenly shot the wrong person. The case took almost 10 years to first reach court and after the trial was declared invalid, Keetley’s new legal team and the judge are preparing to retry the case. In fact, the case has now decided to try again and hopefully more details about the case will be revealed to the public soon.

As we mentioned earlier, the defendant, Michael, the former ice cream truck driver, was accused of murdering 2 brothers, and along with them, 4 others were injured in the shooting. It had happened in the Ocean Mist neighborhood in Ruskin located in Florida where Keetley had gone in order to find a person who was identified as “Kreeper”. Keetlely believed that the Kreeper was responsible for shooting him. Prosecutors claimed that Keetley had taken revenge and mistakenly killed the wrong person who was not even involved in the earlier incident.
