After graduating in 1967 from William Adams High School in Alice, Texas, Whitney married Carol Caron on February 14, 1969. He dedicated more than two decades of his life to the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an aviation mechanic until 1989, when he retired. Whitney and Carol celebrated 54 years of marriage, during which time they raised many children in their loving home and had four children and several grandchildren.
He actively participated in some church activities and had a strong commitment to his faith. Whitney leaves two lasting legacies: teaching her family valuable life lessons and bravely serving her nation. His parents and his granddaughter Grace Victoria predeceased him. On November 7, 2023 he was buried with military honors and a memorial service was held at St. Geronimo Cemetery. The First Baptist Church then held a service after his burial.
