Israeli father says Hamas tried to sell his son’s severed head for $10,000

The father of a fallen Israeli soldier claimed that after his 19-year-old son was killed, Hamas terrorists tried to sell his decapitated head for $10,000 in Gaza.

David Tahar, father of former Israel Defense Forces Sgt. Adir Tahar said Hamas abused the body of his son after he was killed during the terrorists’ surprise attack on Israel on October 7.

“The terrorists, the barbarians, there is very little to say for them, they beheaded him and took the head to Gaza,” David told local Channel 14, according to i24 News.

“I did everything I could, it wasn’t easy, in the end I got a headless body,” he said, adding that the defense forces did not want him to see his son’s dismembered body, but he had insisted.

The grieving father said that after his son’s body arrived at Mount Herzl, Israel’s national cemetery, he opened the coffin to see for himself what had happened.

“He was unrecognizable. “I identified him through dog tags, a DNA test and things he had in his pants,” David said.

For the next two months, David worked tirelessly to try to figure out what had happened to his son’s head.

To his horror, he finally found a video posted on Telegram that provided him with answers.

“The Internet was flooded with horror videos. I must say that I saw almost everything, unfortunately I found the video of my son, where it is seen that my son is without this essential part of him,” she said.

David later received official information that Hamas had attempted to sell his son’s head, advertising it as a soldier’s head for $10,000, he told the station.

“It’s incredibly barbaric,” he said.

Adir’s head was later found inside a freezer in Gaza, hidden inside a duffel bag with tennis balls and some documents, his father said.

“[There were] documents of some terrorist and the head of a soldier. What was left they managed to bring back after two and a half months, there was probably abuse there too,” he said.

“We recovered the bones, what they found, we analyzed the DNA, we also found teeth and we buried him,” he said, before adding: “In my eyes, it is an obvious miracle that I can give him mental and physical peace. “What we are currently trying to do is have a monument in memory of Adir.”
