President Joe Biden has been dealt a double whammy: He received a COVID-19 vaccine and a flu shot, the White House confirmed.
White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor confirmed in a memo that Biden, 80, received both shots on Friday.
O’Connor also said Biden was vaccinated several weeks ago against the respiratory disease known as RSV.
“As we enter cold and flu season, the President encourages all Americans to follow his lead and check with their healthcare provider or pharmacist to make sure they are fully vaccinated,” the doctor wrote in a memo.
This comes just weeks after first lady Jill Biden, 72, contracted COVID-19. The president tested negative.
Biden tested positive in July 2022 and tested positive again in a “rebound” case.

The CDC has recommended that all Americans receive an updated COVID-19 vaccine heading into the winter as new cases rise due to the newest variant, Eris.
Earlier this month, a prominent New York doctor said new COVID-19 cases are weaker than in previous years.
Dr. Erick Eiting, vice president of emergency medicine operations at Mount Sinai Downtown, told NBC News: “Almost everyone I’ve seen has had really mild symptoms.”
The outlet reported that the virus is so much milder that it can be difficult to tell if patients have COVID-19, allergies or just a common cold.

“The only way we knew it was COVID was because we were testing them,” Eiting said.
