Josh or Joshua Jacobs was born on February 11, 1998 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States. His father, Marty Jacobs, worked as a regular shipping and receiving clerk at his local warehouse, and his mother, Lachelle, was a homemaker. In 2006 his parents divorced, he wanted to be with his father but due to some circumstances his father told him and his four other siblings to live with his mother. Which he didn’t like at all, since his mother wasted his support money. This leads to both parents fighting for custody of the children.

Jacobs ran 23 times for 85 yards and was able to get two touchdowns and one pass for 28 yards in the 24-16 victory. In his next game, he faced the Kansas City Chiefs, where he rushed 12 times for 99 yards and, unfortunately, the Raiders lost by a score of 28-10.
Three weeks after their first debut, they went after the Chicago Bears at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where they ran 26 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns and caught 3 passes for 20 yards in a 24-21 victory. Two weeks later they bounced back from the loss against the Detroit Lions, where Jacob perfectly managed to rush 28 times for 120 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-24 trophy victory.
After an eighth straight game of the season, Jacobs held the Raiders’ rookie record for rushing yards in a season with 740, surpassing former football player Marcus Allen’s old record of 697. In his next game against Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football, he rushed for 71 yards and the game-winning touchdown and caught five passes for 30 yards.
In Week 11, the team faced the Cincinnati Bengals, where they rushed 23 times for 112 yards in a 17-10 victory. In Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs, he rushed 17 times for 104 yards in a 40-9 loss. During the losing game, Jacobs became the first rookie running back in Raiders history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.
During 2019, Jacob missed three of the last four games due to his shoulder injury and a skin infection. But during his final season, he was able to finish with 1,150 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.
