Career
Kani Kusruti began her career with the Malayalam film Anyar as Bus Passenger in 2003. She acted in the anthology film Kerala Cafe as Zeba in 2009. In 2010, she appeared in the thriller film Cocktail as Elsa, a prostitute. She appeared in the 2013 romantic comedy film Oru Indian Pranayakadha as SP Jayalakshmi IPS. It was an unexpected hit despite competition from Drishyam. The following year, she played the role of an AGS officer in the dystopian political satirical film Masala Republic (2014).
In 2017, she appeared as Sudalai and Bhairavadu’s mother in the action thriller film Spyder. She starred in the Tamil short film Maa as Sathya in 2018. She acted in the Malayalam drama film Biriyaani as Khadeeja in 2020. In 2021, she played the figure of Monalisa Paul in the Hindi sci-fi philosophical film Ok Computer. She did a Malayalam social political thriller film, Pada, as Sheeja PK, Balu’s wife in 2022.
