Larry Elder suspends 2024 presidential campaign and endorses Donald Trump

Radio host Larry Elder suspended his long-shot presidential campaign Thursday night, endorsing former President Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican nomination.

“As I look ahead, and after careful consideration and consultation with my campaign team, I have made the difficult decision to suspend my campaign,” Elder, 71, said in a lengthy statement on social media.

“As I exit the race, I am proud to announce my endorsement of Donald Trump for president of the United States,” he added, calling on Republicans to unite behind the GOP front-runner to defeat President Biden next year.

The veteran radio host announced his candidacy in April and had built his platform to shed light on the fatherlessness crisis and his opposition to the notion that America is systemically racist.

Elder failed to qualify for any of the debates hosted by the Republican National Committee due to insufficient poll numbers and donors.

He is the fourth candidate to leave the Republican race, after Miami Mayor Francis Suárez, former Representative Will Hurd of Texas and businessman Perry Johnson.
