The ex-husband of U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) was arrested for allegedly shoving their 18-year-old son and sticking his thumb in his mouth as if he were going to “knock out a tooth.”
An arrest warrant obtained by The Post showed that Jayson Boebert was arrested Tuesday for an incident involving his son, Tyler, at his home in Silt, Colorado.
The incident is separate from the alleged fight between Boebert and his ex-wife that took place on January 6 at the Miner’s Claim restaurant.
Garfield County sheriff’s deputies arrived at Boebert’s home around 1 a.m. Tuesday after Tyler called 911 and told a dispatcher that his father was drunk and had a rifle, according to the arrest warrant.
“Tyler described Jayson pushing him by placing a hand on his throat/neck area and pushing him back,” Department Cid Ramirez wrote in the warrant.
“Tyler became upset at that point and a physical altercation began between him and Jayson.”

The agent added that when the fight between father and son escalated, Boebert allegedly “stuck the thumb of her right hand into Tyler’s mouth… [and] “Tyler felt like Jayson was going to pull his tooth out.”
Tyler got his cell phone at some point during the alleged fight and managed to call his mother, who then told her son to call the police.
Boebert was allegedly upset that her son was lying on a bed with a laundry basket full of clothes and grabbed the teen’s phone before allegedly assaulting him.
“Tyler advised that because Jayson was under the influence of alcohol, he was clumsy and dropped the phone several times,” the agent wrote.

“Tyler believed Jayson was under the influence because he was only clumsy when drinking alcohol and slurred his speech.
Police arrested Boebert on Tuesday for prohibited use of weapons, harassment and third-degree assault for the incident with her son, all misdemeanors.
Boebert’s arrest follows the Jan. 6 incident at the Miner’s Claim restaurant in Silt, where he called police on his ex-wife and claimed she had punched him in the face in a case of “domestic violence.”
Silt police said it took an officer at least eight attempts to remove Boebert from the crowded restaurant, according to a court report.

Lauren Boebert told police that she and Jayson were at their former marital home when they talked about their “new partners.”
“Lauren explained to Ofc. Morrison that Jayson is hurt and she believes he is doing this tonight to make her suffer like he did after the divorce,” Silt Police Officer Terran Farnham wrote in a report.
The Republican firebrand told police that her ex drank three shots of tequila when they were at her former residence.
She also said Jayson tried to “get closer to her,” but she pushed him away and told him, “Don’t touch me, don’t touch me.”

The couple decided to continue the conversation at the Miner’s Claim restaurant, where Boebert continued drinking.
“Things got heated when both parties argued, at one point Lauren admitted to putting her finger on Jayson’s nose to end the conversation. …Lauren claimed that Jayson told her, ‘Congratulations, your name will be in the headline,’” Farnham wrote in her report.
Cops said Boebert refused to cooperate and yelled at the cops: “I’m going to have some drinks before the damn thing closes. I’m going to get very drunk. “I don’t even want to talk to you motherfuckers.”
Boebert was also arrested for disorderly conduct, third-degree trespassing and obstructing a peace officer.

However, in a statement issued Wednesday, Silt police said that although Jayson claimed he was punched in the face, officers saw no visible marks on him.

They added: “During the course of the investigation over the next few days, Silt police learned that the restaurant did not have video surveillance that was actively recording during business hours.
“No direct witnesses have come forward…Jayson Boebert contacted Silt police to retract any allegations of domestic violence. Due to a lack of evidence, allegations of domestic violence against Rep. Lauren Boebert are unfounded and the investigation into Rep. Boebert is closed.”
Boebert said she “overreacted” when she initially called police to the Miner’s Claim restaurant, according to an interview she did with Westword.
“I just gave him a one-handed hug and told him I was sorry for everything,” Boebert told the publication.
“I mean, I’ve hurt her, man. She didn’t want this; she wants to get married. She wants to have this happy family.”
And he added: “I was upset. He was nervous. I spent the whole day meditating on everything. I wish I had been a little better about it. He probably shouldn’t have gone down there [to Miner’s Claim].”
The couple married in the mid-2000s but divorced in 2023, citing irreconcilable differences.
Lauren Boebert also has a history of minor arrests, including for disorderly conduct and failure to citation.
He also allegedly got into a shouting match in the bathroom with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) last year.
The Republican also made headlines in September after she and her ex-boyfriend, Quinn Gallager, attended a musical performance of “Beetlejuice.”
The video captured the congresswoman touching Gallager’s crotch and releasing a plume of vaping smoke into the air.
