Birth and early life
Mame Khan was born and brought up in a small village called Satto near Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. He belongs to the Maganiyar community. The Manganiyar community has a long family tradition of singing, they pass on their style, rituals, compassion and knowledge from generation to generation. Her father and her mentor, Mr. Rana Khan, was a veteran singer and composer. She basically played Dholak, but after her father’s suggestions she started singing.

Career
Mame began her career performing at weddings, births and other auspicious occasions from a young age. She also performed in front of late Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi on the occasion of Independence Day.
Music producer and singer Shankar Mahadevan gave him a break with the song Bawre in the film Luck By Chance (2009), followed by the song Aitbaar from No One Killed Jessica (2011), Chakora in Mirzya (2016). She also performed in foreign countries such as Center Park, New York, Belgium. She won several awards and honors like GiMA Best Traditional Folk Singer, Musical Diamond of Rajasthan.
