A TikToker found success when he stumbled across a vintage leather chair in a Facebook marketplace. Justin Miller, an internet content creator, knew he had hit the jackpot when he saw the worn leather chair and instantly knew he had to get it.

Miller ended up buying the chair for $50 (Rs 4,000) and sold it at auction for more than 2,000 times the price he bought it for. The Los Angeles native evaluated the potential of the chair, but never imagined it would produce such significant results. Miller told Business Insider: “I’ve probably seen every episode of Antiques Roadshow.”
And he added: “I live, I breathe antiques. I’m no expert, but I do have a good eye, so I saw it and said, ‘That looks like a really interesting chair.’” And surely a quick Google search proved him right. He found a couple of chairs that looked just like his worn-out mess. for more than $200,000 (more than Rs 1.6 Crore) So, he thought that his chair could fetch about a hundred thousand.

Miller contacted a fine art company to hold the auction.
He approached fine art company Sotheby’s to get the chair at an auction table. She also repaired the chair which cost her around $3000 (almost Rs 2.5 Lakh). Based on the listing, Sotheby’s expected the chair to cost between $30,000 (around Rs 25 Lakh) and $50,000 (over Rs 40 Lakh), but the actual price at the end of the auction exceeded all their expectations.
Miller shared his reaction live in a video he posted to his social media. She captured how the numbers went from starting at $28,000 (Rs 23 Lakhs) to a whopping $85,000 (Rs 70 Lakhs).
When fees are added to the final sum, the buyer ended up paying more than $100,000 (more than Rs 82 Lakhs) for the chair.
