Akira Armstrong is an American professional dancer and choreographer. She is best known for participating in the dance reality show Dance 100. She is among the eight contestants on the show hosted by Ally Love. Akira is the CEO and Founder of Pretty BIG Movement.
Who is Akira Armstrong?
Eight-year-old Akira, originally from the Bronx, New York, was passionate about dance and vocal training since she was little. She trained intensively at Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center and then attended the Alvin Ailey School.
He has had the privilege of traveling around the world with various dance companies. Akira even performed at the Cosmo Theater in Vienna, Austria.
An incredible opportunity came her way when she debuted as a lead dancer in Beyoncé’s Greenlight and Get Me Bodied videos. Things only got better from then on; In 2008, Ella Akira founded her own dance company, Pretty BIG Movement, which focuses on plus-size dancers and artists. In 2011, Salt-N-Pepa hired her as their personal makeup artist, allowing her to travel with them around the world.

The highly anticipated Netflix series Dance 100 will premiere on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 3 a.m. ET/2 a.m. CT. These dancers will fight for a grand prize of $100,000.
