A majority of young Americans said they believe Israel should be “ended and handed over to Hamas,” according to a shocking poll.
The poll, conducted THIS WEEK by Harvard-Harris, found that 51% of Americans ages 18 to 24 said they believed the long-term response to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was to “end Israel and hand it over to Hamas and Israel.” . the Palestinians.”
Only 32% said they believed in a two-state solution, and only 17% said other Arab states should be asked to absorb Palestinian populations.
The figure contrasted sharply with other age groups, which dramatically preferred a two-state solution. Only 4% of Americans 65 and older said they felt Israel should be ended.
“These individuals siding with evil instead of democracy should be a wake-up call,” Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) told the Post. “The ideological rot among young Americans, driven by self-conscious values and a victim culture, has gotten so bad that they have convinced themselves to sympathize with real terrorists who hate America.”

Some 60% of the same demographic said the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7 could be “justified by Palestinian grievance,” a position held by only 27% of Americans overall.
At the same time, 58% of young people between 18 and 24 years old agreed that “Hamas would like to commit genocide against the Jews in Israel.”
When asked whether “Israel is committing genocide against Gazans or is simply trying to defend itself and eliminate Hamas,” 60% of Americans ages 18 to 24 said Israel was committing genocide, a view held by only 37% of Americans overall. Meanwhile, 53% of young Americans said students should be free to call for the “genocide of the Jews” without consequences.
Sixty-seven percent of 18- to 24-year-olds said they believed Jews “should be treated as oppressors,” a position that 73% of Americans disagreed with and called “false ideology.”

More than four in five Americans said they supported Israel over Hamas; Among those between 18 and 24 years old the result was a 50-50 tie.
Americans of all ages said they were tuned in to the conflict, with 69% saying in the survey they were paying “very close” or “somewhat close” attention. That figure rose to 81% for Americans ages 18 to 24.
The findings confirm previous studies that showed young Americans were among the most pro-Hamas. Fifty-seven percent of American Muslims have said they believe Hamas’ attack on Israel was justified, according to a Cygnal poll taken shortly after the massacre.

“The truth is that false narratives have been allowed to fester and sink among large numbers of Gen Z students,” said pollster Mark Penn.
Many theories have emerged in recent weeks to explain young Americans’ more sympathetic view of Hamas, including woke teachers and TikTok. The Chinese-owned social media company is frequently in the news for promoting self-harm among its users and, lately, for videos praising Osama Bin Laden.
Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-Wis., chairman of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, called TikTok “digital fentanyl” and accused the company of “brainwashing our young people against America.”
The Harvard-Harris poll was conducted Dec. 13-14 among 2,034 registered voters.
