Biography
Neeraj Arya, who likes to call himself Arya, celebrates his birthday on June 18. He is a very talented musician who stylizes the old dohas to the saint of the Bhakti Kabir Das cult. He passionately believes in the message conveyed by the beloved saint and combines classical and modern music to portray his music with equal passion.
Initially, the Delhi boy decided to pursue a career in the film industry and enrolled in the film and editing course at the University of Madison, USA. However, his love for music drew him back to the place he belonged. Arya first became acquainted with Kabir in 2005, when he watched Kabir’s documentary and began vigorously studying Kabir’s work trying to understand the true meaning of the saint’s work.
He spent six years turning to the classical music artist for inspiration while creating music based on Kabir’s work as a solo artist. She joined the NGO Manzil Se in 2006, Arya maintains that in this organization she began her journey as an artist. She gave him the opportunity to practice and polish his craft by performing in various musical projects. Arya soon became a part of NSPA or National Streets for Performing Arts in 2012, an organization that helps budding artists flaunt their talent and convey their thoughts. While performing as part of the organization at the Bandra station, she met Mukund Ramaswamy, a talented professional violinist, and introduced him to Kabir, inviting him to the incredible journey of Kabir Café.
