A new video has emerged showing the brutal gang beating that left a Las Vegas teenager dead.
The victim, Jonathan Lewis, 17, appears to throw the first punch in the footage, prompting a mob of students to attack him and begin punching and kicking him in an alley near Rancho High School on Nov. 1.
A relative of one of the four teenagers charged with murder for the assault also claimed to The Post that a knife was present during the incident.
In the chaotic new video, a figure in a white shirt can be seen charging at another person who a member of Gianni Robinson’s family, now facing murder charges, claims is Lewis and shows he instigated the fight.
The video also shows a second student, who has not been publicly identified, attempting to flee the mob and being detained.
“Jonathan Lewis’ friend told Gianni that he wanted to stab and kill someone in his group,” said the relative, who asked to remain anonymous.

Lewis was rushed to hospital and placed on life support after being trampled by the group. He died six days later from his injuries.
The new video still lacks the full context of what led the two students and the group to confront each other in the alley.

So far, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have arrested nine teenagers, ages 13 to 17, in connection with Lewis’ death.
Clark County Unified School District officials declined to comment on the video or whether a knife was involved in the fight. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officials also declined to answer questions because this is an ongoing investigation.
A member of Gianni’s family said the high school student was confused as to why he was being blamed for stealing Lewis’ crayon pen, since he was absent from school for weeks before the incident due to a family issue.

“They wanted to stay as a group because Jonathan Lewis and his friend said they had a knife and wanted to stab someone in Gianni’s group,” the family member said.
Lewis eventually caught up to them and allegedly approached Gianni, demanding the whereabouts of his wax pen, the source claimed.
Gianni told Lewis he didn’t take his wax pen, a portable vaporizer used to smoke cannabis, and then another boy confronted Jonathan.

In expanded footage of the fight obtained by The Post, Lewis exchanges words with that teen before he appears to punch the boy, a member of Gianni’s family said.
“Everyone was standing around watching what was going on and that’s when Jonathan Lewis started swinging,” the family member said. “And once the group got there, Lewis’ friend pulled out the knife and started trying to stab people.”
Another boy can be seen in the footage trying to escape the crowd and then being detained, but it is not clear enough to show if he has anything in his hands or if a knife was present.
Lewis’ father, also named Jonathan Lewis, claimed in a GoFundMe post that his son died trying to save his friend, who was allegedly thrown into a trash can by other students.

“None of the people I talked to who were there said they knew anything about the headphones or someone being thrown into a trash can,” the family member said.
“I also don’t know why they’re trying to make Jonathan Lewis a hero, because who brings a knife to school if they’re not looking for trouble? Jonathan was the one who approached the group and demanded his pen that was taken from him a week or two ago.”
The source said Gianni stayed home for the next few days until the principal of Rancho High School called to report that the 17-year-old had been expelled from school.
Gianni Robinson’s family claimed another teen was threatening other students with a knife during the melee.
A day later, Lewis was taken off life support and died in the hospital.
Three other teenagers: Dontral Beaver, 16; and Damien Hernandez, 17, and Treavion Randolph, 16, have been charged as adults and face second-degree murder charges along with Gianni.
The four juveniles have also been charged with felony conspiracy to commit assault causing substantial bodily harm, Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson announced Tuesday.
Jonathan was taken to the hospital and placed on life support after the attack. His father, also named Jonathan Lewis, called his son a “hero” for allegedly protecting another classmate during the fight. GoFundMe. Four other teenagers have also been charged, but since they are under 16 their case will remain in juvenile court. Authorities have not released the names of those students.
A relative of Gianni told The Post that the 17-year-old is not a troublemaker and likes to play video games and basketball.
“It’s been frustrating because he’s scared and he’s only 17,” the family member told the Post. “He shouldn’t go to jail because they threatened him and Jonathan was the aggressor.”
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said they are still searching for the 10th suspect and have asked for the public’s help in identifying the teen.
