Nichole is the youngest of four daughters of her parents. She has three older sisters; Lori, Lee and Natalie. While growing up, she stayed in different cities such as Toronto, New York, and London.

Appleton met Robbie Williams while filming Top of the Pops in 1997. They soon began a relationship and they later became engaged. An autobiography she co-authored with her sister Natalie Appleton revealed that she aborted Williams’ baby after pressure from her sister record company.
In 2000, Appleton returned to a relationship with Liam Gallagher, the leader of the group Oasis. She then gave birth to her son, Gene Gallagher, on July 2, 2001. Interestingly, Gallagher recorded and composed the song “Songbird” as a token of her love for Nichole Appleton. The couple got married at Marylebone Town Hall in London in 2008.
