Nikki Haley qualifies for ballots in more than 20 states, campaign says

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has blocked ballot access in 21 states and territories, her campaign confirmed.

The former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations is preparing for a long-running Republican primary battle in 2024, her allies say, pointing to her second-place finish in polls in New Hampshire and South Carolina, where she used to be governor.

“Republicans across the country are tired of losing and ready to put the drama of the past behind them,” said Rick Wiley, a political adviser to Haley’s campaign.

“That’s why Team Haley has been working around the clock to make sure Nikki Haley quickly qualifies to be on the ballot in all 50 states and territories. Today our 21st vote is being held and everything is moving forward at full speed.”

Haley has qualified to be on the ballot in Iowa, US Virgin Islands, New Hampshire, Nevada, Washington, North Dakota, Hawaii, American Samoa, Missouri, Arkansas, Utah, North Carolina, Alabama, Michigan, Florida, Massachusetts, Washington, D.C., Tennessee, Georgia, Idaho and South Carolina, his campaign said.

Haley, 51, ranks third nationally and second in South Carolina and New Hampshire, according to the RealClearPolitics suite of polls.

The first Republican primary contest is scheduled for January 15, 2024 in the Iowa caucuses.

Then, on January 23, 2024, New Hampshire voters will weigh in on the primary.

Haley’s home state of South Carolina is scheduled to hold its Republican primary on February 24, 2024, and Super Tuesday is scheduled for March 5, 2024, with more than a dozen races, including many of those in the ones she is on the ballot now.

Given her standing in the polls, Haley’s campaign has argued that she is the most viable alternative to former President Donald Trump, the current Republican Party front-runner.

“ALTHOUGH DeSantis does well in Iowa, which is a big ‘if’ given his current decline, he is in such a weak position in New Hampshire and South Carolina that it doesn’t matter. There is no end to him,” Haley campaign manager Betsy Ankney wrote in a memo earlier this month.

Allies of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis have pointed to his second-place position nationally and in Iowa to argue that he will have momentum on his side when voting begins.

The Republican presidential hopefuls are scheduled to face off on December 6 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for the fourth debate.

That verbal fight will be moderated by NewsNation, Megyn Kelly and the Washington Free Beacon.
